About me and my tutoring methods:
Learning a new language should be a fun way to connect with new people and have opportunities to learn about a new culture, different from one's own! My tutoring practices focus on the unique needs of my students, striving to make Spanish interesting and fun! I focus on conversational skills, while implementing real world material to help my students see how useful the language is they are learning. I have traveled to Ecuador on 5 separate occasions and have been blessed to be able to speak Spanish with native speakers and call them my friends. I recently returned from Belize after being there for 1 month teaching Spanish at a high school as a part of a study abroad experience. It was amazing! I want my students to be able to speak a second language because not only is it fun and interesting, but also because opens up an incredible world of new possibilities, from friendships to job opportunities. The world is a lot smaller than we make it out to be, and learning another language will help one see just how true this is!
I tutored Spanish for a year and a half at Murray State University in the Student Support Service department.

I student taught Spanish 1 for 12 weeks.
As a part of a study abroad experience, I taught Spanish in Belize for 4 weeks.
I have had experience both translating and interpreting English-Spanish and Spanish-English. About me and my tutoring methods:

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I teach high school Spanish, and have experience with native Spanish speakers from Ecuador, Belize, Mexico, and El Salvador. I speak Spanish daily at home.
