Motivated Tutor and Coach in Language Arts, Spelling, & Business

I am DeShawn S. I graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University with my undergrad in Business Management. I went on to graduate with my master’s in Organizational Leadership from Regent University, and now I am working on my Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership and Healthcare.

Throughout my educational journey, I discovered my admiration for all things business, marketing, language arts, and research. Successful learning involves the speaker and the listener’s ability to listen and decode the messages being exchanged. I had the privilege to work with professors who were patient and ensured I was able to comprehend the content. I aim to reflect these same values while tutoring students. Each person has unique learning styles that must be considered while working to achieve educational goals.

I have 3 years of tutoring experience in working with elementary English, Science, and Reading. I worked directly with the students individually or in small groups. Also, I have tutored university-level students, from associates’ level to doctoral level in Language Arts in the areas of thesis, organization and development, formatting, style, and mechanics. No matter the level, every student needs a listening ear, a coach to help them get unstuck.

I am easy to work with as I want to make sure I listen to accommodate the needs of the student. I welcome parents or potential students to reach out with any questions they may have beforehand. Upon scheduling a session with me, I will send details to better help the student prepare for the session.
