My 18 year old is very bright but has always struggled with math and it has lead her to even have anxiety attacks. She had her first session with Mr. Rob and it was like a light switch was turned on. Her exact words were "I wish I had teachers like him in every subject then high school and upcoming college would be so less scary and challenging. She made her next tutoring session on her own and is looking foward to it. He is the angel I have been praying for to help unlock the door to math for my daughter. When she wants to come home and do math on her own because she now understands it, this is truely huge! He truly has a gift. Thank you Mr. Rob!!!!!!!

My daughter was struggling with geometry, she is a 9th grader, her school teacher had a lot of health complications, unfortunately the substitute was not enough and it did not help that they switched substitutes each time.

My daughter 's exact words were " he explains it and it makes sense!"

I am grateful for his input. A very respectful person and a great attitude.

Thank you for your input!

Rob understands that everyone learns differently. He works to find out what concept is causing a problem and continues to explain math steps in different ways until the "I got it" smile is on your face. I leave a session feeling like I can succeed in math!

Rob was so patient & informative. He took his time explaining anything that didn't make sense & continued to explain until the lightbulb went off. Best math tutor I've ever experienced. Thanks, Rob!

What I like about Mr. he is very flexible on going step by step with my son. he told me that he helped him on his lesson on guiding him with patience to get to the point. I never see my son excited about any tutor before as he did for Mr. Rob so I can say he is a good teacher so far.

Your first impression in meeting Rob will immediately get you to realize he understands math and knows how to improve a student. Impressive how he sees the work of my sons assignments and knows how to make a plan going forward to better him in school. I recommend him to anyone searching for math help.

Test Preparation:

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have taught Algebra 1 at the high school level for eight years. I have extensive experience tutoring basic algebra for both children and adults. I have a M.A.T. in teaching secondary mathematics from the University of Louisville, which encompasses Algebra 1.

I have taught Comprehensive, Honors, and Advanced Program Algebra 2 for several years at the high school level. I am an expert instructor in both a traditional approach to Algebra 2 as well as CPM Algebra 2. I have an expert understanding of the Algebra 2 curriculum, as well as where that material fits in from a vertical alignment perspective. In addition to formally teaching multiple Algebra 2 courses, I have tutored this content in after school ESS settings, college math lab settings, and in private tutoring.

I have taught Honors and Advanced Program Geometry courses for several years. In addition to the traditional approach to Geometry, I am also experienced with a variety of techniques to teach Geometry content such as using manipulatives and technology such as Geometer's Sketch Pad. In addition to mastery of the specific Geometry content, I have expert knowledge of the vertical alignment structure of secondary mathematics. I know exactly where the content learned in Geometry becomes important in later subjects such as Calculus and Precalculus.
