Indiana University Southeast (Psychology)
I have experience teaching children who have special needs. I am a former instructional assistant at Churchill Park school. There, I worked with children from ages 3 to 5. I performed tasks such as tutoring, lesson planning, composing daily progress reports, physical assistance, etc. I gained experience with a variety of special needs teachers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists. I also worked with a variety of children with special needs including Spina Bifida, autism, Cornelius Delang, Cerebral Palsy, and brain damage. My strengths in tutoring include English and grammar, public speaking, writing composition, music theory, ear training, and history. I can offer rudimentary flute lessons. I studied Psychology and Music at Indiana University Southeast. I have applied to graduate school, which is scheduled in a few short months. I am seeking graduate school admission, and would love to gain experience in tutoring before I start my Master's degree.
I have experience in writing research articles, peer-review articles, and manuscripts. I also received a disguised rating on my writing portfolio in 2009.
I have studied music for the past 15 years. I am a trained flutist, pianist, and vocalist. However, my core study is flute. I received accredited training in sight singing, ear training, and music theory.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
