Hi. My Name is Eric. I am a middle and high school English teacher, and I am certified to teach grades 5-12. I have taught language arts for four years now, and I love it. I am a very energetic 27 year old who enjoys multiple teaching techniques that address many different learning styles. My three favorite areas to teach in the classroom are grammar, annotating literature/poetry, and testing strategies.
I have tutored students every year that I have taught, and I love the one-on-one opportunity to meet the student's particular needs and apply them to their interests. I also thoroughly enjoy seeing the success on the student's face when they finally understand difficult material. My objective of tutoring students is to help them reach their academic goals and to help them reach their full potential in both grade school and collegiate level schooling.
I have spent nearly 7 years studying to be an English teacher, and I have taught/tutored in many different school environments. This has given me the opportunity to teach many different types of students and many diverse learning needs. My major in college was in English, and I followed that with a Masters Degree in Education. Due to my education and experience, I am able to teach students language arts skills and am able to explain why these skills are important. My typical structure of tutoring consists of pre-assessing the student's knowledge, gauging the student's learning methods, engage in activities to improve areas of need, and assess progress while communicating results and progress to parents.
It would be my pleasure to meet you and help tackle any issue in need of improvement. I would love to hear from you in regards to scheduling lessons! Hi. My Name is Eric. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
