I possess a Bachelor's degree in Spanish and a Bachelor's degree in Latin American Studies. I have years of teaching and tutoring experience. I plan lessons with reading, writing, listening and speaking exercises. Most importantly, I plan lessons that students can UNDERSTAND.
Too often, Spanish instructors insist on speaking only Spanish during lessons - even for grammatical explanations. Sometimes students aren't even allowed to ask a question in English! I disagree with this method. My teaching method develops a strong understanding of the grammatical framework of Spanish before immersion in the language. My method lends itself to an enjoyable learning process and more confident speakers.
I expect the student to be prepared for lessons questions ready! The student and I will work from their current course curriculum and I will supplement that curriculum as I see fit.

Students that cancel a lesson within 24 hours of the start time of that scheduled lesson will be charged for a one hour lesson.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I possess two Bachelor of Arts degrees. I have experience tutoring reading comprehension at the college level. I am also a legal professional, which requires exceptional reading and writing skill.
