“**Great Math Tutor!**”

My Motto: With each concept I did not know, there’s always a journey. Even if I don't know something, I will strive to learn it. This motto has proven to be very invaluable… even early on throughout high school as I received a full academic scholarship to a well respected and prestigious university.

It's an important quality for

Going in to his senior year, our son had never really been challenged in school. That all changed with calculus. After failing the first two exams, we called Devin for help. With Devin's help, our son not only finished AP calculus with a B+, he also made a 4 on the AP exam, giving him college credit for Calculus I at Belmont University!

my daughter was pleased with the help received. I was impressed that the tutor arrived prepared and interested in understanding the specific help my child needed

Devin taught me some of the basics of using the python programming. He clearly explained the topic that I was struggling with, and gave me some great pointers on the lesson. Last week's session went very well. I rate this tutor as excellent, and can't wait to working with him again this week.

Devin was really great at explaining information with my daughter about her Algebra 2. He was very patient and when she didn't understand he explained in a way that she finally got it.

Devon was a great help to my daughter for reviewing ACT Math problems. We are hoping for great things when she sits for the ACT again. Thanks for the flexibility you provided in meeting with her.

Devin is knowledgeable and a really great teacher. He is reliably available and has helped me to clarify and build my understanding and skill.

I took calculus 1 last semester and found it to be very difficult. I ended up with a not so pleasing grade, so I'm retaking it this semester. I just got my first test back and I made an A on it.

I can give a lot of this credit to Devin. He's a great tutor. He's very good at explaining concepts I could not grasp last semester. He's very knowledgeable on the subject and patient. He's also really nice. Great experience.

One of my favorite students to work with. She is very proactive in making sure that she is sufficiently prepared well in advance for the class. Here's to hoping there are others out there with the same inspiring work-ethic and drive.

My 11 year old son had brought home a poor grade in pre-algrbra. I was beside myself. I knew he was intelligent but obviously was missing connections that could be made with one-on-one help. I've always helped my son with his homework but I'm not a teacher, and especially not math one! I decided to hire a tutor and found Devin. Thank goodness I did. My son went to an A within 3 tutoring sessions!!! As an adult returning to college myself I understand there isn't a price that can be put on a solid educational foundation, especially math since it only builds on what you previously have learned. We can't thank Devin enough! My son is SO confident of himself now and actually looks forward to learning more math skills instead of trying to hide his homework like he did before.

From my first communication with Devin I was impressed with his quick response time and professional attitude with me. He worked with my son on his Calculus class at UK. My son had nothing but good things to say about his study sessions with Devin. He always kept me informed on what they had accomplished after each session. He seemed truly invested in my son's learning the material! I would highly recommend Devin to anyone needing a tutor!

Thanks, Trish! I always enjoyed working with your son as he is a bright kid with a lot of initiative. I truly felt by the end of the semester that he thoroughly understood Calculus as evidenced by our last review session. I hope to hear of many future successes.

My daughter has always struggled with math in general. Algebra became overwhelming for her. Devin has been SO helpful. He takes time to explain concepts so that she can more easily understand. He is very patient and very knowledgeable. He even works ahead with her using her textbook so that she is prepared in advance for her next class concept. She made an A on her first test after tutoring with Devin. We couldn't be more happy with choosing Devin to tutor our daughter in Algebra I. Thank you Devin!!

Your comment is very much appreciated. Your daughter has and continues to be a pleasure to work with. Not often do I get a student who is so engaged in the work. Her recent success in the classroom is not only a tribute to how hard I've worked with her, but more importantly: how hard she has worked with me. A student like Jess is a reminder of why I love to do what I do.

Approved subjects are in **bold**.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

60 challenging math questions and only 60 minutes to take it. Need help? The areas covered in this test range from pre-algebra to pre-calculus.

I am studying to be an actuary. I have passed exam P with an 8 and exam FM with a 9. I can tutor in either of these subjects. I would prefer to tutor exam P as it is more conceptual.

Explore the first step in mathematics in high school. Algebra allows you to take problems (even word problems) and assign variables to solve for unknowns.

Algebra II is a continuation of Algebra I where functions are bumped up from linear ones to quadratics (and all polynomials), rationals, and logarithmic.

Following my Computer Science minor, I have had a lot of experience with C++. Using Linux with a G++ compiler, I've learned the basics of C++ such as iteration, recursion, project/output files, and much more.

Find the limit, differentiate and integrate functions in this college level subject.

Learn two-column proofs, axioms and postulates, and area and volume formulas.

Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) is the integrated language within IE that allows you to, from your very own notepad, create simplistic websites.

I took Linear Algebra at Transylvania and got an A in the class. I have also worked with matrices on MATLAB as well as the BASIC language for Texas Instruments.

I have tutored MATLAB at Vanderbilt University. I understand the basic functions as well as the more advanced features with MATLAB such as data tracing. I feel confident I can assist anyone in this subject.

While I have not taken the Praxis test, I have tutored it before to a graduate student at WKU (Western Kentucky University); she is currently a Special Needs Educator for Warren Co. School System and she passed all parts of her Praxis except for math the first time. After working with me, not only did she pass; she passed with flying colors.

I have lots of experience with verb tenses (conjugation) and a moderate amount of vocabulary.

I have worked with students in the K-6 grade level who had trouble with organization and study skills. As one might imagine, the two go hand in hand. Being prepared and organized lends well to having good study skills. The tutor can give the student the tools to succeed, but without good study skills, a student is not going to do well. I understand this and emphasize it in my teaching.
