Victor is a very personable enthusiastic teacher! He is really helping me prepare for the ACT by explaining math problems so they make sense to me. He also provides a lot of visual break down of math problems which helps me so much since I'm more of a visual learner.
Victor has made learning Statistics easy and fun. He explained it in a way I could understand. He is so knowledgeable when it comes to math. He showed me ways to use Excel that saved me so much time! I was failing my class and after getting his help I passed with a 96%. Thank you so much Victor!
He was very knowledgeable on the subject matter which was proved by telling me how the various formulas were founded .This information was factual very interesting and helped me to tie the formula to how they arrived at making it.This helps one to remember when you have this background information.I liked the fact that he was not only knowledgeable in this respect,but also listened to me and will plan our sessions to ensure test success.
Victor is an excellent tutor and he's also a great mentor for my son. He tells it like it is and explains to my son that he must practice, practice, practice! He cares enough to tell my son that he needs to practice at least x amount of problems to increase his understanding of a particular concept. As a parent, I appreciate Victor taking on the role of mentor in addition to tutor!

Due to recent testing my son didn't feel that he had anything specific on which he needed to work. Victor offered to come anyway and prepared a lesson that helped reinforce some of the basics. This lesson was geared specifically for him and my son felt it was extremely helpful. There is no doubt that Victor tutors in a way that goes above and beyond my expectations.

After many many months of search, we finally found a tutor who has a rich math background and is able to help my son in AP Statistics. Victor comes prepared with notes and extra questions for the session. Victor is very respectful, patient,on time and gives my son positive feedback on improvements he can incorporate.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. I have served as a mentor at the Mathematics & Science Student Center at Cabrillo College and provided academic and career guidance to students aspiring to enter a field of their choice. In my own search for an alternative career as a career changer, I pursued a 2nd graduate degree and had ample opportunities to engage in various career guidance literature and activities at the University of Michigan Career Center. I have taken a rigorous 1-year course sequence in linear algebra & differential equations for mathematics and science majors as an undergraduate at a liberal arts college recognized nationally for its academics. I received a solid A for my coursework in both semesters and have successfully assisted my peers in understanding the various concepts and methods used to prove theorems and/or solve problems.
I lived and went to school in Germany, including a college prep school (known as Gymnasium (as opposed to Realschule or Hauptschule)), for several years during my formative years. I continued to take German classes in high school in the U.S. (received a score of 5 on the AP German test) and have taken college courses in Advanced German & Translation as well as in German Literature. I also have taken a 1-year sequence of graduate courses in Business German Practices and earned a grade of A- on a formal test on Business German proficiency (Pruefung Wirtschaftsdeutsch International) offered by the Goethe Institute.
I have taken a formal college course in computer information systems which included an introduction to MS Access in its curriculum. After earning the grade of A upon completing the course, I have applied and further increased my knowledge of Access in a professional setting for a number of years in the context of actuarial analysis at leading insurance companies. Most recently, I transformed the way data for a monthly dashboard (for senior managers, showing actual to expected ratios of claims & premiums by state) was processed earlier this year. Originally, the dashboard had relied on data processed in Excel, but now it draws data processed in Access.
