About Erin

I am a high school chemistry and French teacher with ten years experience (all levels of first year chemistry and AP Chemistry and French I). In the past I have also taught anatomy & physiology and biology and before that I worked in the printing industry and as a lab technician. I have two bachelor's degrees in French and history and two master's degrees, one in French and the other in secondary education. I also have nearly all the credits completed for bachelor's degrees in biochemistry and biology, and I am close to completing a doctorate in curriculum and instruction. I hold KY teacher certifications in chemistry, biological science, French, social studies, and English as a Second Language.

I tutored peers throughout college in chemistry and calculus as well as GRE prep. I have been tutoring middle school, high school, and college students for the past several years in reading, math, science, history, French, and test prep (ACT, SAT. SAT subject tests, AP, GRE, and Praxis).

I enjoy helping students to come to the realization that they are able to master subjects that they had previously found difficult. My goal is to approach learning in the way that is most helpful for the student. I try to be as flexible as possible in both the instruction conducted during sessions as well as in scheduling.

I also conduct online tutoring sessions for a reduced rate ($45/hour) and this allows me to connect with students needing help all over the country. I have found that this particularly fits the needs of college students and adult learners.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
