Hi there! I am very excited to have the opportunity to briefly introduce myself here. I have 10+ years of teaching experience working with high school English classes. I have taught nearly every class available in the high school English curriculum (grades 9-12, Creative Writing, Speech, Humanities, AP Language and Composition and ACT Prep). I have also worked with the entire spectrum of ability levels, from non-English speakers to National Merit scholars. My experience has also been in both public and private schools. Finally, I have an additional job in which I write curriculum for other English teachers to use in their classroom, so I am very well-versed in national and state testing standards.
On a personal level, I have decided to take some time off from full-time teaching to adjust to my new life as a newlywed and new mother. This allows me to have a very flexible schedule to work with you and to plan and prepare to meet your needs individually! I have a heart for helping people and teaching English is one way I can assist. I would truly love to work with you! I'd love to discuss how I can help you reach your goals. Please contact me if I can be of assistance!
10 + years of Teaching experience in a variety of different settings, course curricula and age ranges has helped me truly be able to identify skills that work to help meet a variety of educational goals. I have taught many levels of English and at varying ability levels, from struggling learners to AP Language and Composition. In addition to being able to pass on skills for success in the classroom, I have done extensive prep work in preparing for the ACT English and Writing test, SAT, and AP Tests. I have a background in learning languages, as well. That being said, I have an understanding on a personal level that helps me be empathetic to language learners. My tutoring experience began as I was a student at Morehead State University in helping international students prepare for the TOEFL test. Most importantly, I feel that it is my own love for learning which best prepares me to help others acquire skills they need to be successful, both in and out of the classroom.
I very much look forward to hearing from you. Please feel free to contact me to discuss options or how I could be of assistance in helping you achieve your goals. Hi there! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have served as a youth worker at my church for the past four years leading Bible study with middle school and high school students. I have worked alongside our youth minister in planning and developing lessons, leading group studies on my own and working with idivisual students.
