University of Kentucky (Elementary Education)
Hello, I am Ramsey! I was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky and just this past year I have moved to Lexington to finish my elementary education degree at The University Of Kentucky. I have always had a passion to work with children and have always wanted to have an opportunity to make a difference in their lives.
I realized my passion through one of my first jobs that I had which was working in an after school program. Through this program I also realized that tutoring is another good way to work with children. I would work every afternoon with different students to help them to complete their homework on different assignments with children who were in kindergarten through sixth grade. Through this I realized that tutoring was just one of the many aspects of my job that I loved.
I am have taken and currently am in elementary math classes to not only refresh my memory on the different skills needed in elementary math. I have also learned and am learning in these classes different methods to help to teach students these skills.
Throughout my after school program I have had to help many different students to further their reading education.
I have worked with elementary students for almost 6 years now in several different situations. I have babysat students and had to help them with homework then and I have also helped many different students of different ages throughout working in an after school program. I believe that my patience and compassion help me succeed in being a good tutor for elementary children.
I have worked one-on-one with students who have had autism in several different situations. I have helped these students to not only work on their basic activities such as speech, using the restroom, and socializing. I also have helped students with completing and understanding their school work.
I am excited to get to know new students and to help them to learn new skills and to brush up on old skills! If interested please contact me at my WyzAnt email! Hello, I am Ramsey! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
