I was a tenured teacher at a nearby school district, but have decided to take a break to stay-at-home with my baby. I have taught Biology for five years, AP Biology for four years, and AP Environmental Science for one year. My present AP Biology pass rate is 80%. I developed and initiated an AP Environmental Science curriculum in my school for the present school year and do not have any official AP results as of the current date.
In college, I majored in Biology. My degree allowed for me to develop a background in molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, ecology, evolutionary biology, physiology, and comparative anatomy. My present job as a teacher allows me constant development and education in all of these fields.
I am a hard-working person and I am not intimidated by a challenge.
As part of my undergraduate degree I have taken both inorganic and organic chemistry. I teach units concerning both of these sections of chemistry in my present job and feel comfortable in tutoring for them as well.
My experience in tutoring ranges from high school biology and EOC preparation, AP Biology, college-level Biology, and college-level genetics.

Allison tutored me in Biology I in my freshman year at UK. She is a great teacher and really helped me understand the material. Because of Allison, I was well-prepared for the tests in a subject I did not really like at all. I would definitely recommend Allison to anyone who is struggling with understanding the big concepts in Biology.
Allison was very sweet and was a great help to my daughter. She didn't mind for my daughter to ask questions. She really encouraged her to.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I've taught high school biology for 5 years and tutored for 3 years. I'm very familiar with ACT's structure and questions.
I have taught biology at the high school level for five years and have taught AP Biology for four years. I also earned a bachelors degree in Biology.
I've completed several course in Botany at the college level. I also worked in a botany lab during college examining various plant species and their mycorrhizae interactions. My work in preparation for teaching AP Biology and Environmental Science have also helped me in developing a deeper understanding of plants and their interactions.
I took several courses in genetics during my undergraduate degree. I teach several units in my present classroom concerning genetics, its history, its usage to predict future offspring, and its ability to affect population allele changes. I am also well-versed in its applications in regards to evolution. I'm also educated in the mathematics associated with this area of study.
I have taught physiology before as a component to my high school AP Biology courses. I have also tutored several classes at UK.
