Emily believes that education is the first step to success. She believes children who do well in school, feel confident in their intellect, and know that their community is behind them will have the confidence and tools to achieve their full potential. Emily graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2015 with a Master’s in Public Health. Emily received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Kentucky in 2011. Emily is passionate about using her academic background to help strengthen the community of Lexington. In her regular job, Emily works as a case manager, linking clients and their families to services in the community to help them to build a foundation for happier and healthier lives.
She has experience tutoring elementary, middle, and high school students in a variety of subjects. Math is the most requested subject, but her strong verbal skills allow her to assist with grammar, spelling, and writing as well. Through her college education, Emily was able to build a strong knowledge base for general biology, chemistry, and physics as well.
With her background in psychology, Emily is adept at managing children’s frustrations, anxieties, and fears surrounding school. These may include study skills, feeling blocked about a specific subject, and feeling nervous about tests. She tutored throughout her high school and college careers. She even worked at a local tutoring business before taking time to focus on completing her graduate degree and building her public health career.
Emily is recently married and has a stable job with regular hours, so she is ready and extremely excited for the opportunity to begin working with students again. She is dedicated to providing a supportive learning environment and implementing creative ways to help your student succeed. Emily can help your child catch up, get ahead, or prepare for standardized testing. Contact her today!

I am a college graduate who spent most of my undergrad career as a premed student. I decided that Public Health was a better fit in the end, but I prepared for both the MCAT and the GRE my junior year as I was making this decision. Through my coursework and standardized test experiences, I have learned strong time management skills as well as how to figure out how I learn each type of material best and tailor my study sessions to that style of learning/review.
