I love teaching ESL. I greatly enjoyed my time studying Political Science as an undergraduate at the University of Kentucky, but once graduated, I soon found what I was really drawn to was education itself. I first experienced one-on-one teaching after a master's course in teaching abroad brought me together with my first ESL student. As a Kentucky Governor's Scholar and Commonwealth Diploma holder, I realized my own drive toward pursuing education, but after I began teaching my first ESL student, I realized I wanted to share that drive with others.
I have hundreds of hours of in-classroom experience teaching ESL abroad, and in the U.S., where I work as an ESL instructor with a Eastern Kentucky University. I enjoy language and have studied French, German, and Spanish both in and out of the classroom. I am qualified not only by experience teaching, but also experience learning new languages myself. From that experience, I have learned that hours studying are important. That's why my rate for ESL students is set at only $20.
I do not offer make-up lessons; however, I do offer a 6-hour cancellation policy. If you cancel with 6 hours or more notice, there is no charge for the lesson. I can meet in a public place or at the student's home for lessons.
I like to be very accessible to my students. I constantly check for messages both related to class material, scheduling, and addressing any concerns of the student. If the student has time, I like to address any concerns immediately following a lesson. This way I may make certain I am held to the educational standards my students deserve, and ensure my students are satisfied with my tutoring. If you're not 100% satisfied with a lesson, I will not charge for that lesson and I will address those problems to ensure they don't occur in the future.
I look forward to hearing from you! Thank you for your consideration! I love teaching ESL. I greatly enjoyed my time studying Political Science as an undergraduate at the University of Kentucky, but once graduated, I soon found what I was really drawn to was education itself. I first
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
