University of New Mexico (Chemistry)
University of Kansas (KU) (PhD)
University of Kentucky (Graduate) (Master's)
I teach and tutor full time. I started my own company in 2015. I have tons of resources that I use in tutoring - old exams, worksheets, textbooks and workbooks. I have taught at University of Kentucky and Georgetown College and have many contacts in the area. I love teaching and tutoring and helping students understand chemistry and statistics. Organic chemistry is one of my favorite subjects - I excel at synthesis and mechanisms which are typical exam questions. I am currently teaching chemistry at Bluegrass Community and Technical College.
I have tutored and taught chemistry at the high school and college level for many years. I have a PhD in chemistry education and feel very comfortable with chemistry at the high school level and any freshmen or introductory class in college. I am very familiar with UK's chemistry professors and classes including the online chemistry homework system including Mastering Chemistry, Sapling, Wiley Plus, and ACE Organic. I have tutored nursing chemistry, all of the freshmen chemistry sequence, and organic chemistry. I know where students tend to get stuck and can help you consistently solve problems and do well in your class. I have helped students prepare for the AP chemistry exam and successfully pass!
I have tutored students from middle school age to college level and graduate level. My students have been from several local high schools, Centre College, Transylvania U., Morehead State, Georgetown College, and University of Kentucky. Most of my students are pre-professional students - premed, pre-vet, pre-pharm, etc. Many of my students end up with a B or A in the class, even after having failed the first exam!
I received my MPH in Biostatistics in 2017 and have taken several graduate classes in statistics. I am proficient in SPSS.
I took physics 211 at UK as a refresher- this is the first semester physics course for pre-professional students, those that are going into pharmacy, vet, dental, and medical school.
I have helped several students working on their masters or Ph.D. dissertations with statistics, research design, literature review, orals preparation, etc. My students have been from a variety of fields. Having gone through a Ph.D. program as well as the fact that my husband has been a professor for over 20 years graduating many masters and Ph.D. students, I know what it takes to get through a graduate program successfully.
I have successfully homeschooled my own children - my oldest child was homeschooled from 2nd grade through high school and is now on the Dean's List in college majoring in chemistry - he has also gone on to start tutoring others!
I have an office close to the university where I usually tutor students - it has free parking, internet, and is quiet! If you prefer another location, let me know. My schedule is flexible. I may ask that you send some examples from your course ahead of time so I can be fully prepared for our lesson.
I really enjoy the one-on-one interaction with students and think it provides a great framework for learning. I promise to be punctual as well as ready for our lesson. My goal is that at the end of the lesson, you walk away feeling that you got your money's worth and feel more confident in your coursework. Please contact me today to see if I can help you succeed in your goals!

Discounts given for multiple or group sessions! Please ask me about it!
Christina is a wonderful, wonderful tutor! She is extremely patient and is able to explain things in many different ways so that you really understand. She specifically helped me with organic 2 - I ended up achieving a B!! She is very flexible with meeting times and was able to meet a bit longer near the exams to make sure I really understood all of the material. She was able to break everything down for me and teach me what I needed to know. I'm not that great at taking exams, but she gave me the confidence I desperately needed!
I highly suggest Christina for organic - both 1 and 2! She is amazing at what she does! :)
So proud of you!!
I used Christina for a 10-wk graduate level bio-statistics course. I was so incredibly confused and frustrated with the course material! I literally did not understand hardly any of it! Christina listened to me and was able to explain everything to me slowly and in a way I could understand. She was able to incorporate the material into real world examples for me, which helped immensely! I used Christina for tutor sessions 1-2 times each week during my biostats course. She took each of our sessions seriously, was prepared, and managed the scheduled time appropriately. I just took my final exam last night and I think I will end up with an A in the course! Thank you Christina for the patience and all the assistance!
Another great session, very helpful and understanding. Our daughter left feeling like she wanted to take her test right then.
Christina helped me work through homework problems while explaining the parts where I was stuck. She also refreshed my memory of the older material and cleared certain topic up for me in order to help move on to the more advanced material.
Dr. Christina was very helpful explaining binomial distributions and interpreting p-values in various biostatistical conceptual contexts. She provided me various quality additional resources to help me study for my biostatistical final exam. If you're looking for a professional with statistics experience and knowledge that will put their best effort forward to help you succeed, she is the tutor for you
Very patient and direct. Makes difficult topics easier to understand. I would definitely recommend her. Her availability is terrific too. Uses resources if needed, to be sure information is correct.
Dr. Christina M. was great. She explained what I needed to know and I had a better understanding of t test and ANOVA. Also how to make a study guide for my quiz.
She taught me how to do my Chem 103 homework at UK. We have been working on molarity, concentrations, etc and it has been a difficult topic for me. She has helped clear up the information tremendously.
Christina reviewed my homework to ensure accuracy, has experience with biostatistics, and showed me additional resources to utilize. Can't wait for my next session!
Christina did a fantastic job with organization and knowing what weak areas most students have with Chemistry. She is prompt and gives detailed notes and always is willing to help even on a short notice.
Christina taught my son college Chem and made him feel confident. I am thankful for her willingness to work with him on such short notice.
I liked her approach to reviewing my work. she is strong in the Organic chemistry subject manner. She saw me thru my assignment. She scheduled me in on short notice which I strongly appreciate. She was patient and helped clarify issues that
were creating problems for my solutions. I will begin studying for my final and I will continue to maintain a connection with this tutor.
Christina is very knowledgeable and does an excellent job conveying her chemistry knowledge in a way that is easy to understand. Excellent tutor!
I worked with Christina this whole semester. She really helped me and I finished with much greater proficiency than I expected. She is very patient and explains topics well. I highly recommend her if you would like more support on your class.
Thanks! We had fun, right???
Christina was VERY HELPFUL. I hate IR and NMRs and figured this was going to be the reason why I failed the course. But Christina made it fun showed me useful and fun ways to figure IRs out. She also went over many many problems and didn't rush she made sure I knew what I was looking at. I had given a bad review before but it wasn't towards her it was for the poor connection ( on my part and kept dropping signal making it hard to continue ), but NOT ON HER. SHES AMAZING. shes very sweet and goes over many problems. She is also very much available and has yet to ever have any issues fitting me. Which is amazing and not many tutors have that. I specially love how she doesn't mind repeating things. Am very what's the word umm slow lol and sometimes shy from asking but Christina makes you feel a away in which she encourages you to ask. She is also asking you questions she doesn't just solved things and just talks. She communicates back and ask you to answer most questions which is what I was looking for!!! Thanks Christina for helping me and for being a great tutor!!
Christina is very patient and communicates the subject matter very effectively and efficiently. I am finally beginning to understand something about statistics and feel more confident about my work.
Helped my daughter gain an understanding of Organic Chemistry. Christina seems to be knowledgeable. Only had one session so far but I am very encouraged Christina is going to help my daughter get through this tough course.
Christina was a great resource in helping me see results from a research project I was working on. She had good insight, and helped me guide my project to completion. I would not have been successful without her.
Christina was very patient and helpful. I would definitely recommend her. She listened to my rationale and provided feedback on ways to approach a problem.
Christina is a great tutor. She is keeping the content fun and interesting to the students. She does a great job with my kids.
I am so excited to have Christina working with my son. He is really starting to show progress. I have seen his confidence grow since we began with Christina.
Christina is the best organic chemistry tutor I have encountered yet. She is patient, very helpful, knows her subject in depth, breaks the subject down in an easy to understand way, and is very personable. I highly recommend her if you're looking for an o-chem tutor, you won't be disappointed. I only wish I had found her earlier in the semester! I will recommend her to all of my friends.
Parents and Students, my daughter is a sophomore at UK. She is in her second year of chemistry and found it a little challenging. I live out of state, and went on the hunt for help, a tutor. Through WyzAnt I came across Christina. I was able to set up tutoring twice a week with Christina. My daughter has been very happy with the sessions. Christina has reviewed her past tests, provided study recommendations as well as strategies for exams. Christina's PhD, her teaching experience and professionalism made her our choice. So, if you are reading this review, you must have a need, you can’t go wrong with Christina. Christina, thanks so much for the help you are providing my daughter.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
