I am a UK student majoring in Mathematics. I am early in the phase of major studies, but have been asked by classmates in college Algebra to tutor them. My tutoring students have been very pleased with the attention that I provided. They were able to accomplish what they thought was not possible at the start.
I really enjoy working with those who say that they dislike math. I have a very patient approach. I enjoy working one-on-one with students, giving them the attention that is needed for success. I understand that not everyone learns the same way, so I try to modify my approach to reach the student in the way they best grasp new information.
My professional background is in law enforcement (10 years experience). In this field, I have become an instructor for new officers. I am now applying this love of teaching to my love of math (and other academics), for the benefit of young students.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
