I am a Ph.D in the field of Biochemistry/Molecular biology. I am a Ph.D in the field of Biochemistry/Molecular biology. I possess not only a strong back ground in biochemistry and molecular biology but also in microbiology, immunology and cell biology and genetic engineering etc. I teach several theoretical and practical courses in molecular biology, Immunology, genetics and biotechnology at different institutions. Currently I am working as a Biology lab teacher at University of Pittsburgh. I got expertise in the basic and advanced molecular techniques (DNA, RNA and Protein extraction, PCR, Sequencing etc.).

In my masters research I have experience in serological and biochemical identification of field isolates of Pasturella multocida from Buffaloes and Identification as well as characterization of Tobacco mosaic virus from leaf samples of tobacco using ELISA techniques. My PhD thesis focuses on the exploration of genetic diversity in Rice by using morphological traits, biochemical (SDS-PAGE) and molecular markers (RAPD and SSR). Landraces were analyzed for morphology, Protein and DNA markers to ascertain the extent of genetic diversity among them. Meanwhile, I got expertise in various statistical tools such as scoring molecular data, data interpretation, and transformation of various types of data, linkage analysis, and diversity index measurements using cluster analysis and principle component analysis, molecular analysis of variance by using NTSYS PC 2.1 and 2.2, STATISTICA, MSTATC and PAST etc. In addition, I also possess a teaching experience in biochemistry, molecular biology and biotechnology.

I strongly believe that the experience from my research and my teaching could be of value for a lot of biology and biochemistry students . Having diverse back ground in my educational and research career, I can operate in an interdisciplinary research environment.

I recently finished my PhD studies in the field of Molecular genetics. Being aware of your website, I am writing this application. My husband is also doing Post Doc at Pittsburgh university and I am very much interested to have experience in teaching biology/genetics/botany/microbiology/biochemistry. Currently I am working as a lab instructor in school of biological sciences, University of Pittsburgh till April.
