I am Aaron. I have multiple degrees including a bachelor's in Exercise Science and a Doctorate in Public Health. I currently teach medical terminology and healthcare administration classes. I enjoy getting to know my students and bridging the gap between the content I teach and the professional world the students are preparing for. I have a background in clinical sports medicine and healthcare administration so I am always looking for ways to incorporate my professional experiences into my lectures and lessons. The more tangible I can make my content, the more students tend to pick up and retain the major points. The work I assign always has a reason behind it since I believe students can filter out what is important and what is busy work. I try to be creative when creating assignments so that the students can understand the reasoning behind the work and see the bigger picture of why this assignment matters. The most important thing to me as a teacher is that my students understand the content and concepts I am teaching. This means that I add activities to my lessons to ensure that students are retaining the content and feel comfortable with asking questions to ensure a competent grasp of the material.
My tutoring experience comes in the form of working with my students on a one-to-one basis. This has traditionally meant working with students who are struggling or who have requested extra help. I am comfortable tutoring on several topics including medical terminology, basic biology, administration, and sports & fitness topics.
I want to make sure the students I work with enjoy and retain the content and look forward to the lessons I present. I have worked with tutors who simply throw out a quick lesson and then a worksheet and while that may work sometimes, each student is different, and therefore a one-size fits all approach will not work. Once it is determined what the student needs, the fun from my end will be determining how best to meet those needs.
