Marshall University (Geography GIS)
Marshall University (Master's)
I recently graduated from Marshall University as the first accelerated Master of Geography student. As an undergraduate, I concentrated my geography degree in physical and cultural geography as well as geographic or geospatial information science, also known as GIS. As I entered graduate college with a few graduate level courses already, I continued to emphasize cultural geography and GIS in my curriculum. After my first semester as a graduate student, I began teaching as a Graduate Assistant.
I taught Introduction to GIS and Introduction to GPS classes as a teacher of record while I provided private tutoring services to students that were finding a wide range of geography classes challenging. It was during this time that I found a true love for teaching which was only furthered by the success of my students. I love to help students grasp information that would otherwise be missed and my innovative teaching methods have proven to be successful for all students that have both taken my classes and tutoring sessions.
As a geographer, physical science processes are of utmost importance. From understanding the cycles of seasons to tectonic plate activity, I have used them all in my pursuit of academia. Aside from technology that allows automatic calculation of some of the processes found within the earth, I have also had the pleasure of learning long hand methods for most of the processes.
Geography is my passion, after all, I majored in geography in both the undergraduate and graduate colleges that I attended. I have a well rounded view of geographic processes and an in depth understanding of the geographic methods that are widely being employed to solve a variety of problems from sociocultural to geophysical issues that face the world today. I am also versed in political science, with a concentration in Latin American and North American policies.
I am willing to go the extra mile for you, to make sure that you not only understand the topics that you are having difficulty with but to help you see how these processes and methods are applied in the globalized world of today. I am just an email away and I will help you succeed in your academic endeavors concerning geography, political science and GIS.
