About Rachel

I have a Ph.D. in Educational Studies from the University of Cincinnati. I was a Graduate Assistant at UC and then became a college professor at Northern Kentucky University, teaching classes to students who wanted to become teachers. These classes included educational psychology, educational sociology, and methods classes where I showed students different techniques on how to teach content material to high school and college students. At least half of these classes were graduate classes, working with adult learners.

I also taught high school for several years. I taught American and World History, Political Science, Psychology and Sociology.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
