My name is Joseph, and I've been an academic from a young age. I was a star player on the academic team from 3rd grade all the way until my sophomore year of high school, with a specialty in history, science, and quick recall. After my sophomore year, I was accepted into the Carol Martin Gatton Academy of Mathematics and science, a prestigious academy where I took college courses for the last two years of high school. I am continuing my education because I love to learn new things. I think it's important to learn something new on a regular basis to keep the brain fresh, and I love to help others find that same sense of satisfaction.
I've always had a strong mind for numbers and data, which lends itself well to math. I received a 30 on the math portion of the ACT, and continued my education all the way through calculus 2 during my time at the academy.
I realized science was my strong suit in academic team when I was young, and stuck to it. I received a 31 overall score on the ACT, with science being my strongest score.
I began programming independently at the age of 12, and continued training through formal education later. I'm going to school for computer science and have experience helping my classmates at the academy through their own courses.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
