Hola! I am a certified high school Spanish instructor in the Bowling Green area. My experience includes degrees in Psychology and Spanish from Western Kentucky University (3.94 GPA) and also three years working hands-on with Hispanic parents and children in a migrant program. I began teaching high school Spanish in the Fall of 2010 and I completed my master's degree in Secondary Education in May 2013.
In addition to the previous credentials and experience, I was identified as "Advanced Mid" by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) Proficiency Scale. Further, I received Excellence in Teaching Award from Campbellsville University in May 2016.
I consider myself to be a creative, interactive, and entertaining instructor as well as tutor. Within my classroom, I use tons of technology and other resources/strategies to engage my students, and the same would occur with whomever I tutor.
At present, I will be available for tutoring on most weekends, most school holidays, and of course in the summer during teacher vacation. And lastly, my current strengths right now are beginner to intermediate Spanish (Spanish 1,2,3), although higher levels are future possibilities for tutoring. Hola! Elliot has helped me tremendously. I have one week of my class left with a good cushion on my grade.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
