Experienced and dedicated elementary school teacher

I am a caring and loving elementary teacher who is dedicated to helping students become more confident and able to succeed in academics. I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Integrated Science and Mathematics. Since graduation, I have taught Science and Nature Education through Montessori methods, have substitute taught all subjects K-12, and spent many hours in Special Education classrooms, working with exceptional students of all abilities.
While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about helping students make a connection between what they are learning and how it will help them in real life. I am a strong supporter of life long learning, believing it to hold the keys to our success and self efficacy, and I try to spark this love of learning in all my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, walking my goats on the mountain while foraging for fresh mushrooms, and enjoying nature's splendor.

I have completed coursework for a major in Mathematics, and have years of experience teaching Math in concrete and innovative ways, fostering mathematical fluency. I love getting kids excited about math!

I majored in Integrated Science, and have years of experience teaching nature education, biology, and earth science with a hands on, investigative approach to discovery.

I have years of experience with helping students build reading and writing skills by encouraging them to discover topics they are interested in and learning more. I have found that by harnessing their personal interests, they become engaged and eager to build these skills.
