I am from Kentucky where I began teaching special education K-8. I then moved to Dallas, Texas where I taught in a private school serving Dyslexic students. I returned to an independent school system in Northern Kentucky where I taught middle school and high school special education. I then moved to Marietta/ Woodstock in 1987 where I taught the 1st time in Cobb County at an elementary school. I then moved to teaching at Howard School serving LD students in middle school social studies. Then I spent 15 years tutoring and consulting for several psychologists in the area as well as working with Cobb, Cherokee, Fulton, and Marietta City Schools among others. I worked with the homeschooling community and taught and serve on the board at a private LD school in Acworth. I then returned to Cobb County as a special education teacher for 5 years at Walton High School and 7 years at JJ Daniel Middle School as a special education teacher. I am certified in all subjects K-8 and Lit/ Comp, Science, and Social Studies for high school.

I maintain lifelong relationships with many of my students both from tutoring and teaching. I enjoy the one-on-one relationships and getting to know families as well. I enjoy helping each of my students to grow into a much improved student who can accomplish whatever goals they set.

I specialize in serving ADD/ADHD students, Learning Disabled students, Autistic students and students on the spectrum. I have taught study skills and social skills both in the private practice as well as in schools. I helped begin the CHADD chapter for the Atlanta area in the 90's and served many years as President of the Cobb Learning Disabilities Association. As a result I have been a speaker on topics related to Learning Disabilities and ADD/ADHD on both the local and national level. I am certified in Math, ELA, Science, and Social Studies in both K-8 and in high school subjects as well. Reading, Science, and Social Studies are my favorite subjects to teach.

I am certified in elementary, middle, and high

During the last 12 years of teaching special education within Cobb County Schools, I worked as a case manager and special education teacher with students who were on the spectrum and serviced in the co-taught classrooms. Previously when owning a camp that served young students (ages 3-5) with potential academic and speech issues, we served autistic and students on the spectrum during the summer. While in college, I did extensive research on autism. I currently work in alternative education for middle school and high school where we see many diagnosed and undiagnosed students in our program.
