As a senior History Major at Ohio University, my studies have been so far-reaching that, despite choosing North American History as my area of concentration, I meet the requirements to select any of the concentration areas including: European and Non-Western History.
I also have a strong background in Political Science, haven taken almost enough classes to meet the requirements for a Political Science Minor. I have extensive field experience in this field as well, having worked as a staffer on 4 political campaigns in the last 4 years; and most recently as a campaign manager for a State Representative race in Eastern Kentucky. I have a deep passion for government and an excellent knowledge of the United States Constitution, as well as foreign policy.
Blending my formal education with real experience has empowered me with both practical knowledge as well as a command of content. Over the years, I have developed excellent study habits and know exactly what it takes to be successful in school.
I am currently working on finishing the last few classes of my undergraduate degree and moving on to become a teacher.
My abilities are not limited to peers in my age group. Being an uncle to 10-year-old twin boys has given me first-hand experience helping younger kids fulfill their learning potential--and I fully understand the value of a quality education that focuses on critical thinking, problem solving, practical application and a well-rounded grasp of content knowledge.
Thank you for considering me for your tutoring needs and I look forward to working with any age group to achieve their educational goals! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
