I can be formal and make up lessons, but I would rather be the tutor that helps the student understand their assignments, and study for a test. I enjoy helping all ages of students, K-12 and the occasional college student. I like for the student to be hands on, so sometimes I use objects or manipulatives to help explain problems.
Right now, I am currently working as an adjunct Math Instructor at Butler Community College. I am also tutoring 8-10 high school students, a couple middle school students, and work in a math lab at BCC Campus in Andover. My biggest joy is helping students discover a way they can achieve their future goals.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Great tutor!

My daughter is a freshman in high school and was apprehensive about having a tutor. Katrina quickly put my kiddo at ease and dove into the assignments on hand that she was struggling with. By the time Katrina left my daughter felt confident that she understood the material and was very happy that she found a tutor. We will definitely use Katrina again in the future.

Awsome tutor amazing person

Katrina is amazing and super patient with me in understanding the problems with algebra which is difficult and nerve wracking subject for me and she always manages to be patient with me and answer all my questions. I am so thankful for her being in my life right now. And she is also fair with her time that she spends with you which I truly appreciate since I am sure everyone knows as a student we are always definitely scraping by financially. I finally feel like I have a chance in passing my college math course. Love her...plus this is my first time trying online tutoring and she has help me get acquainted with that as well since am in Chicago. Thank God we both have the same central time.

Knowledgeable, patient tutor

Katrina is super flexible, has all the patience in the world, and really knows her stuff. She helped my daughter get through summer school this past summer and spent time supporting her through her finals this semester. My daughter retains the information more frequently when tutored by Katrina. She does a great job!

Wonderful teacher

My daughter completed her homework on her own after her tutoring session within reasonable time because she finally understood it! This is huge! She hasn't understood anything in algebra and was failing. Her self-esteem is up after comprehending the lesson, too! Highest regards.
