About Katrina

My name is Katrina. I have taught high school math in Wichita school system for 7 years in the past. I loved helping students during and after school. I also enjoyed going to all their sporting events to see their talents outside the classroom. I enjoy helping students with any type of math.
I can be formal and make up lessons, but I would rather be the tutor that helps the student understand their assignments, and study for a test. I enjoy helping all ages of students, K-12 and the occasional college student. I like for the student to be hands on, so sometimes I use objects or manipulatives to help explain problems.
Right now, I am currently working as an adjunct Math Instructor at Butler Community College. I am also tutoring three high school students, a couple middle school students, and work in a math lab at BCC Campus in Andover. My biggest joy is helping students discover a way they can achieve their future goals.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Knowledgeable, patient tutor — Katrina is super flexible, has all the patience in the world, and really knows her stuff. She helped my daughter get through summer school this past summer and spent time supporting her through her finals this semester. My daughter retains the information more frequently when tutored by Katrina. She does a great job! ...
