When I was an engineer, I found I especially liked welcoming new interns into our department. I loved showing them how to do things and seeing their enthusiasm. This eventually translated into a career change for me, as I started teaching college math as an adjunct and then transitioned to teaching high school math as well. I have been teaching for 15 years now, at both the high school and college levels.

This eventually translated into a career change for me, as I started teaching college math as an adjunct and then transitioned to teaching high school math as well. I love tutoring students because I really get to know their individual problems with math. I can find and fill knowledge gaps that they may not realize they had, enabling them to make progress through their current math courses. I also love seeing how each student's brain processes math and trying to help them understand themselves and how they learn math better. I want each of my students to become confident in their math abilities.
I love helping people understand things that they find difficult to comprehend. I find there is no person who cannot learn math, though we all learn and understand in different ways. My job is to help you learn how to understand math concepts. Tutoring is a way that I can help people make significant progress through difficult courses. I have a good understanding of the different problems people have with understanding math and a patient attitude while helping them learn and coaching them into becoming more confident in their math abilities. I am very fluent in topics from Algebra 1 through Calculus 1 and also am adept at Statistics. I look forward to helping you become confident in your own math abilities.
Please consider getting tutoring in math alongside a course you are taking so that if/when you have problems, you have a qualified person ready/able to help you that knows your individual needs as a student. I look forward to hearing from you.
