Growing up in a different country and moving to the US, almost 30 years ago, I had to teach myself strategies that teachers, at that time, didn't have the skills to do. I grew up being very resourceful and creative, which helped me a lot as an elementary teacher and special needs tutor.
Going to a community college for business and then realizing my true passion for children is a gift I've been given and I use this in my every day life. Learning and growing takes time and we must nurture that in our children and for ourselves. We are all life long learners, and we all have different ways of thinking and learning.
I would love the opportunity to help you child grow as a life long learner and to have even more success in school and life.

I managed his moods well, without medication. I know that some children do need medication. For children with ADD/ ADHD, I can help them in and out of the classroom, to focus better and to be able to do course work successfully. Children and or adults with learning issues, all can be taught strategies on how to be successful, in whatever subject area or life skills area they need.
My experience is vast and I enjoy teaching children and young adults at any level of learning. My strategies are all research based and proven in the classroom, as well as tutoring. My strengths are literacy, and basic every day math skills. My strategies are what makes learning more enjoyable and will get faster results. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
My degree is in Elementary Education. I am well versed in research based strategies to help children build on their strengths and work on their challenges, regardless of age or academic level. There is great hope for every child to learn to the fullest potential.
