About Samuel

Bio

I graduated with a BA in Orchestral Trombone from the School of Music at KU. I started out as an education major and have always been drawn into teaching others, taking part in several teaching programs in highschool and college. I can safely say that I can teach you how to blow any brass and how to play musically on any instrument, but I can only talk about the true intricacies of the trombone-and love doing so!
I believe the best way to learn an art is through open appreciation...

I believe the best way to learn an art is through open appreciation and proper technique. I emphasize a comfortable atmosphere to promote relaxed and fun learning. Depending on what you want to do, we can spend all our time working on tone, on a tune you bring in, or how to play along with your favorite Count Bassie album. But during all of it, I will be working to draw out the best sound as possible from you, making practice more like performance.

KU's School of Music has taught me proper ear training and sight singing techniques that I find invaluable to my musical knowledge and would suggest it for anybody interested in learning music through and through.
My degree from KU is my BA in Orchestral Trombone. Through school and other teachers, I have learned to play and teach orchestral trombone as well as how to improvise and practice.

Let me know if you'd like me to be your guide on your grande music journey, where ever it may lead
