Thank you for viewing my profile.
I enjoy helping students unlock their creativity while strengthening and polishing their academic ability. I am committed to teaching success strategies for diverse English needs including test preparation, writing the best college essay, and getting through that difficult reading passage.
I will help you or your child meet and reach high yet realistic goals that show the rewards of good effort.
I hold an Honor's Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Creative Writing from The University of Iowa, which is renowned for its English programs. My experience teaching over 300 high school students and holding 9 weekly small group classes as well as working one-on-one with students has expanded my knowledge of different learning personalities and the tools needed to help every student succeed. Positivity, praise and attention are three good aspects of my tutoring.
I am happy to travel to a location that is comfortable for students and parents, such as a high school or public library, the student's home, or other convenient public locations. While I appreciate and instill a 24 hour cancellation policy, I do offer make up classes.
I am professional and personal, strict yet smiley, and here to help students succeed.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
