My main areas of expertise are math and statistics, all the way from the very basics up into college level. I also have a solid foundation in chemistry and physics. I have been helping people out informally for many years, and I have two years of experience as a TA and two more tutoring as a job.
Currently, I'm finishing a master's degree in Library Science, with the goal of becoming an academic librarian. I see tutoring as a two-way street. I'm teaching, yes, but it's just as important to listen to the student and understand what they need.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
