My name is Kevin and I’ve always wanted to tell stories. When I was in film school at USC, I was a finalist for the Coca-Cola Refreshing Filmmaker’s Award. My submission was titled simply “The Editor”. It was about a young boy who used his imagination and the tools available to him to create a story by seeing the world not as it was, but as it could be. It’s an example that I’ve followed for more than 10 years in my professional work as a videographer using technology to combine words, sounds, and images to tell different kinds of stories - stories that educate, entertain, and inspire.
As a video and technology enthusiast, I enjoy working with Apple's professional suite of video production tools - specifically Final Cut Pro X - and I love sharing with others how easy to use and powerful this software can be. For the past 8 years, I've worked as a videographer using Final Cut Pro X to edit many different types of corporate video projects. I've also used Final Cut Pro X outside of work on some personal and freelance projects. In my job, I've also had to teach Final Cut Pro X to a newly hired associate and found the experience to be both fun and rewarding. I would consider myself a patient instructor when it comes to showing someone how to use new software and I'm always trying to deepen my own understanding of Final Cut Pro X by reading industry articles, blogs, and taking webinars online related to its use.
If you're a complete novice when it comes to video editing, or just somebody that has used iMovie but is looking to step up to a more powerful and sophisticated platform, please contact me to learn more and schedule a lesson to start learning Final Cut Pro X today. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
As the Senior Videographer at National Seminars Training for the last 8 years, I've used Final Cut Pro X daily to edit in-house and customer-facing videos projects, as well as various other multimedia projects. I've also used Final Cut X outside of work to edit wedding videos, promotional videos for Kansas City FilmFest, and St. John LaLande Parish and School. In my capacity as Senior Videographer, it was also my responsibility to train a new hire on how to use Final Cut Pro X, so I do have some experience teaching others how to use the software.
