I direct the Honors Program for MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, KS. My academic degrees are in religion and education. My interests lie in world religions, philosophy, philosophy of religion, Christian scripture (Bible), practical theology, Christian education, etc. I also enjoy video game studies from interdisciplinary perspectives: education, psychology, sociology, culture, communication, media, aesthetics, history, narrative, curriculum, structure (ludology), and religion. I have published and publicly spoken on religious and video game topics approximately 50-60 times since 2009, when I finished my Ph.D. dissertation. My approach to teaching and tutoring is lively and discussion-based.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I am credentialed in religion and education at the undergraduate (MidAmerica Nazarene University 1998), graduate (Nazarene Theological Seminary 1993), and post-graduate (Trinity International University 2009) levels. I also direct the undergraduate Honors Program for all majors at MidAmerica Nazarene University.
