I was nominated GTA of the year in 2010 at the University of Kansas for my teaching performance. I also received the award of tutor of the year in 2006 from the Kansas Algebra Program at the University of Kansas.
Recently I have authored several mathematics textbooks for iBooks. My interactive calculus textbook was featured on stage in the iPad mini Keynote presentation by Apple's CEO.
For three semesters I was director of Mathematics Placement Exams at KU. Also for four years, I was a supervisor at the Kansas Algebra Program at KU, which involved managing a math help room that served hundreds of students on a daily basis.
In my long experience I have helped students of all learning types and abilities. I pride myself in offering a very personalized tutoring experience. Chris is not just a good tutor--he is fantastic. He is beyond patient and accommodating, willing to meet at any time on short notices. Simply put, he is the best tutor I have ever had. He gives you all the tools you will ever need to succeed in any math class, is extremely knowledgeable and can show you multiple approaches to solving any problem you may have.
Simply put, if Chris is available to tutor you, you MUST go with him.
My son passed his end of semester Math test with a grade C. Considering he was a poor F grade, just a few weeks before the test, Chris did a great job of getting him up to speed when he needed it the most. I would thoroughly recommend the Math tutoring services of Chris V. If my son starts to struggle with Grade 10 Math we will be repeat customers for sure.
My daughter told me the lesson was excellent. Christopher was very patient, allowed my daughter to do the work on her own and taught new methods of approaching the math.
Chris was a perfect fit for my son, he got a better understanding of the materials in one lesson. Very patient.
My daughter needed help preparing for an important test and with Christopher's help she got her first A of the semester. Christopher was able to schedule a session on a fairly short notice. Very helpful.
My son is struggling with AP calculus and Chris has helped him attain an understanding of the topic. My son and I are very pleased!
Chris knew the subject well and did a great job of helping me learn it. He was very flexible and readily available when I needed help. I highly recommend him as a tutor for college-level statistics. We also found the WyzAnt system very easy and convenient.
Christopher has been a tremendous help during my struggle taking calculus. I am much more confident in completing my homework as well as enduring quizzes and exams. He was the first to respond to me when I stumbled upon this site and continues to be quick with responding to my messages and very helpful setting up times to meet with me. I truly recommend contacting Christopher for any mathematical issues. I am very pleased with the well informed assistance he has provided and the understanding I have now obtained.
I just graduated from college, and I owe a great deal to Christopher for his help in Statistics. After struggling with the coursework for a month and failing my first test, I knew I needed help. I searched for a tutor online and found Christopher. After my first meeting with Christopher I felt a sense of relief. By the second and third meetings, I was beginning to understand and even enjoy Statistics. I scored a 90% on my second test, a 91% on my third test, and a 95% on my final. Without Christopher's help, I would not have passed this course. I needed someone to help me understand the material, and Christopher was there every step of the way. I highly recommend that you hire Christopher immediately if you are struggling with Statistics or any other form of mathematics that he tutors in.
He worked well to better prepare my son on numerous occasions to understand material and be well prepared for honor high school tests. He was very willing and flexible in his schedule to accommodate our needs. He is a very good tutor. We would not hesitate to use his help again.
Chris was amazing with my son. I had to force my son to go to the tutor session because he has had a rough go with a tutor we used from somewhere else. My son stated "I feel like not just a boulder was lifted off of me, but that an entire house has been lifted off of me."
Thanks to Chris for achieving the impossible!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have worked with many students in preparation for the ACT and SAT.
