Hi! My name is Sanjana, and I am a high-achieving high school senior with a strong academic background and a genuine passion for teaching students from elementary through high school. I am a National Merit Semifinalist with a 1560 SAT and a 35 ACT, including an 800 on SAT Math and perfect 36s on the ACT Reading and English sections. I have earned 5s on AP U.S. History and AP Language and Composition, and strong scores across a wide range of other AP courses including AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus AB and BC, AP Statistics, AP Computer Science Principles, and AP World History. I have also studied Chinese for eight years, which has helped me become a clear and patient communicator, especially with younger learners.
In addition to academics, I have over 100 hours of experience teaching and tutoring elementary and middle school students in math and reading, as well as high school students in algebra, biology, chemistry, and writing. I have worked in one-on-one settings, small groups, and volunteer-based educational programs, and I have seen firsthand how much confidence and performance can improve when students feel supported and truly understand the material. I am also involved in breast cancer research through a university program, which helps me connect classroom science to real-world applications and explain concepts in a meaningful and engaging way.
My teaching style is calm, encouraging, and very structured. I focus on building strong foundations, explaining concepts step-by-step, and helping students understand the “why” behind each method so they are not just memorizing procedures, but actually learning. I especially enjoy working with students who feel anxious about school or think they are “bad” at a subject, because I love helping them realize they are capable and intelligent with the right support. Whether your child needs help with basic skills, homework, test preparation, or advanced coursework, I aim to make learning feel approachable, empowering, and even enjoyable.
