I am currently enrolled in Electrical Engineering at ASU with a 4.0+ GPA through rigorous engineering coursework up to Calculus 2. I am qualified to do tutoring for Algebra I, Algebra II, Prealgebra, and Trigonometry at the High School or College level. In the past, I have helped fellow students pass tests by connecting the abstract math concepts to familiar real-world applications, such as spending money and physical movement. I am most familiar with helping high school and college students, but I am willing to help middle school students. My greatest tutoring accomplishment was helping a friend pass his math GED test.
I am most familiar with one-on-one teaching with a book or homework present to help the student work through. Solving math problems can be very open and fun! You just have to approach it the correct way and with intent! I find that when students relate concepts to things they see in their lives, it makes concepts much more intuitive! It also helps them see math as a tool to solve problems rather than a tedious chore! Students can only truly learn when they take their learning into their own hands, and I seek to enable that as a tutor.
