My love for education and teaching has guided the career choices I have made. I have been working in education for the last 12 years. I consider myself a life-long learner and continue my education and daily practice as and artist and an educator. I enjoy the classroom setting, but I look forward to working with students on an individual basis to improve their artistic skills and abilities. I also have a great deal of knowledge in the areas of psychology and sociology and would be confident in helping students excel in those areas as well.
I specialize in teaching art with my specialized areas being drawing, painting and ceramics. My goal for each session would be to set goals with the student around their interest. Students would been tutored on different techniques and given projects or sketch book assignments to complete that would enhance their development of that skill or technique. I would work with students in developing their confidence and passion in the area of art. Any projects given will be designed around the students interest and personality. Art is an expression of oneself and should allow a student to show who they are as an individual.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
