I like to provide variety in tutoring lessons, things that the students actually like to work on but help them excel in the regular classroom. I would be in constant communication with the teacher of the child to find out what areas are of greatest concern.
At the beginning of tutoring any student, I give comprehensive assessment to determine where the child is and take the plans from there. I do progress monitoring to make sure that the activities done are actually helping the child. I gladly send these results to any person associated with the child that needs to have this information.
I love working one on one with kids and see so much growth that I cannot see in my own classroom as fast!
