Hello. My name is Randee. I currently am a Kindergarten teacher of 27 wonderful students. I have been working and teaching students for many years. I have my Bachelor's degree in Human Services and my Master's degree in Elementary Education. I love working with children and helping them become successful with their academics.
My strengths include elementary reading and math, but it is not limited to these content areas. I provide many hands on materials to assist in building literacy skills and math skills. This also includes fun, yet meaningful reading and math games to further students' knowledge and skills in areas of need.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you become successful in school!
I utilize many math manipulatives to help with grasping a variety of math concepts. I also have math games that are enjoyable and effective with learning a variety of math skills.
I have expertise in assisting pre and emergent readers by utilizing magnetic letters and other materials to help with learning foundational skills to become a fluent and strong reader.
I am familiar with Common Core standards, as my school districts' curriculum is aligned with these standards, in which I create lessons for my class accordingly.
I have worked with Kindergarten-5th grades through teaching, student teaching, and substitute teaching.
I have experience with using the Animated Alphabet curriculum to help young learners with their letters and phonics. I also incorporate CVC sound boxes to help with stretching out and decoding words.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am familiar with Common Core as the school district's curriculum in which I work is aligned with Common Core. My instruction is guided with these standards.
I have taught Kindergarten for two years. I have substitute taught, student taught, and observed K-6 throughout my graduate career. I have also worked with children teaching them coping skills with my previous career of mental health. Ages ranged in the clients that I served (Pre-K-6).
I have experience with the Animated Alphabet curriculum that teaches letters, blends, digraphs, etc. I also practice CVC sound boxes that assists with sounding out and decoding words. This is especially important for beginning readers.
My Kindergarteners always exceed grade level expectations by the end of the year due to exposure of high-level books, sight words, and practicing an array of reading strategies to build literacy skills.
