##### About Mitchell

After graduating high school I continued my education at Emporia State University. While attending Emporia State, I played 4 years of varsity tennis and later graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Education. Even though Education was not my first choice to major in, I immediately fell in love with it and realized how much potential I had as an educator. I absolutely love to educate others and make my pupils realize their own potential within themselves.

I specialize in mathematics, specifically 6-12th grade. My goal as a tutor is to push my students beyond what they think they are capable of doing and also inspire them. Mathematics is integrated all around us everyday and the more they know about math, the easier their life will be. Each session I want to challenge my student but at the same time not overwhelm them. I want my students to not only do well in the class they are currently taking, but also to continue what they learned and apply it to future classes and possibly real life situations.

I completed my student teaching at Goddard High School and at Goddard Middle School. I cooperatively taught with the current teachers of each classroom. At the high school, I taught Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 for 8 weeks and taught 6th and 7th grade math at the middle school for 8 weeks as well. During these experiences, I learned a substantial amount about how a student looks at a problem and how to relate information directly to them in a way that they can understand and apply.

I am generally available for tutoring every day from 9am to 9pm and can travel to students. My base rate is $50/hour for in-person lessons. I would also greatly appreciate a 24 hour notice for a cancelation or to reschedule a lesson.

While pursuing my degree in education at Emporia State University, one of my required classes was to cooperatively teach college trigonometry. Me and my colleagues within my education class taught other college students. This was a great experience to have but my student teaching I feel was much more beneficial.

I encourage anybody that wants to advance their learning in mathematics to feel free to contact me. I will do my best to keep in contact with you and will check for messages or questions you may have every day. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve success in your studies!
