About Gina

Dear Student:

Feeling anxious about an upcoming exam or paper? Having trouble staying focused? or remembering what you studied? If so, I am the tutor for you! While I am highly trained in classroom and online instruction, my passion and core expertise is helping students enhance academic performance by reducing anxiety.
I am a certified online instructor and soon to be college professor (May). I am skilled at helping students learn creatively. Experiential methods have been shown to inspire confidence and enhance academic outcomes. I have engaged hundreds of students to enhance academic success by reducing performance/test anxiety. Students report powerful shifts of perception regarding academic success and exam anxiety, as well as an improvement in scores.

I am able to read complex information, assimilate and disseminate to you in a way that you can understand and apply to real-world circumstances. In addition to helping you gain confidence in your grasp of the material we review, some of the things you might experience in session include:

* creative study mapping
* enhanced metacognition (thinking about what you are thinking about) skills
*feeling understood, supported, and instructed in the way you learn best

Bring your books and study notes and I will bring my expertise as a counselor, educator, instructor and certified life-coach to help you better understand what you are studying, reduce test anxiety, enhance performance and increase study material recall.

I look forward to providing you with experiential learning that will empower you to make long-lasting positive changes the way you act, feel and think about academic success!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Career Development

Career and college counseling are not only required subjects to master as a Counselor Educator - but also what I enjoy most. Since 2011, I have been helping court-ordered youth find a future focus with a career assessment. Students' feedback indicates the career assessment, profile, and reflective essay are the most positive and impactful experiences of their court-ordered processes!

College Counseling

I hold a Masters of Arts in Counselor Education from a CACREP certified program (gold standard). I am a national certified counselor (NCC), a licensed professional counselor intern (LPC-I was supervised by Dr. David Lawson, and have completed all of the requirements to be a certified humanistic sandtray therapist (CHST). As a highly trained counselor educator, I can offer college counseling to a very diverse student population, enhancing opportunities for student success with a plethora of resources, tips, tricks, and techniques. I am known to be a a relentless encourager for student successes steeped in hope and infused with a future focus.

GMAT

I nailed the GMAT to enter my Master's program! It's not so much that I new the right answer to every question, but more that I had a strong study strategy and a great technique to increase my overall odds of a better score.

GRE

Studying for the GRE isn't just about memorization, but also about having a good strategy for study as well as test taking. As a doctoral level Counselor Educator I have learned that academic performance can be enhance by reducing test anxiety.
In addition to helping you learn how to recall the information you have studied, I can also teach you test taking tips to enhance your scores and increase your confidence.

Microsoft Excel

I can show you some shortcuts and cool graphs! The main thing, I take the stress out of learning. I meet you where you are in your learning, with your learning style, and deliver a goal driven, engaging and experiential learning session.
What are you waiting for?
