I am employed in two school districts in Butler County. I focus on early literacy skills such as phoneme identification and sound association, all letter and vowel sounds for spelling rules, phonemic awareness, vocabulary relationships and multiple meanings. Reading comprehension to locate main idea, sequence, cause/ effect, similar/different relationships, WH-questions, and story elements including characters, setting, problem and resolution. Writing including eight parts of speech to identify and locate, spelling rules for regular and irregular plurals, verb tense for present, past, future, superlative and comparative, grammar mechanics for correct usage and punctuation skills. I have all my own materials and have access to any additional supplies. I have worked with early childhood, special needs students, students identified with an Individual Education Plan, Other Health Impaired needs, and higher level students in upper grades. If you have any questions about my skills just ask.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
