Hello my name is Jenny C., and I have been a tutor for over 20 years. I have worked for many different tutoring and teaching companies over the last ten years. I enjoy helping students to achieve specific goals, such as passing Algebra 2, or understanding the dreaded proofs in Geometry that most students complain about. I have helped many students achieve higher SAT and ACT scores after they have come worked with me for a couple of months prior to taking the tests. I have them take a practice test, and then we go over the areas that need improvement . I have found that the one on one method of tutoring/teaching is the best possible way for a student to excel academically. I have a very easy going personality and positive outlook always to give students the confidence they need to achieve their goals.
I love working with younger students as well. It is so refreshing to help them get the "OH" moment that it gives me pleasure that is just so rewarding. I have tutored children in Math, reading/comprehension, and writing. I truly enjoy helping them excel, especially if they have a learning disability such as; ADHD, slight autism, or dyslexia. These students have a lower self esteem and that has to be helped at the same time. I understand this since I have worked with several over the years.
I would like to help you and your student achieve the goals you are looking for ! I love to hear from you so we can get started learning!! Jenny has helped boost my daughter's confidence and improve her geometry grade too. She is always willing to help; even on non-tutoring days. I would definitely recommend her to other students.
Jenny is very patient in working with my son on Algebra II. She's taught him tips and shortcuts to solve problems more quickly.
Jenny was great for my son's prep for the ACT/SAT. She reviewed material in the right depth and covered his weaknesses as well as his strengths to increase his confidence before each test.
She was incredibly flexible for changing schedules and an absolute pleasure to work with. Most of all, her reports summarizing their study kept me up to speed with what they were working on so he and I could have follow-up conversations. Not only do I highly recommend her, but so does my son.
Jenny is excellent with both of our kids and has really helped them become more confident/better students. I would recommend her to any students desiring a professional/caring tutor.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been teaching/tutoring students with study skills for over ten years. I was fortunate to learn an extensive program taught by a tutoring corp. I was a tutor for them at that time. The program integrated the student in how to study, prioritize homework, prepare for quizzes and tests, and schedule extra sport or school activities. We found that students improved their grades after completing the program.
I have designed a program that emulates this one without infringing on copyright laws. I have helped many students with my own program.
