Bio

I graduated from Purdue University with a M.S. in Health and Kinesiology. My vast knowledge of sports and athletic training stems from my Division III collegiate basketball background, WPL rugby experience, and my professional experience as a high school PE teacher. I am passionate about sports and can help students and athletes reach their fitness goals.

As a point guard, I helped lead the Smith College basketball team to the NCAA Division III Tournament. Over the course of four years, my team had 77.1% winning rate in conference games. Furthermore, I was a high school JV head coach and taught fundamental basketball skills to new players.

With a minor in Exercise and Sports Studies from Smith College, I learned safe weight lifting techniques, designed exercise routines, and calculated One-Rep Max (1R) for a variety of lifts. In undergraduate courses such Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, and Sports Psychology, I learned about injury prevention for athletes and non-athletes. As a previous college athlete, I am also extremely familiar with weight lifting principles.

With a minor in Exercise and Sports Studies, I have academic knowledge of the physiological and psychological frameworks of humans during exercise. As a PE teacher, I taught high school students team sport activities, internal training practices, weight lifting techniques and hydration/nutrition basics. Furthermore, I have personally played a variety of organized sports such as basketball, rugby, volleyball, and boxing.

As a PE teacher, I developed and implemented Football lesson plans for high school students. Students learned basic rules of the game, catching and passing techniques, and footwork drills.

I learned advanced boxing combinations and footwork as a member at the Pacific Ring Sports Gym. Furthermore, I am currently attending an advanced kickboxing class at Purdue University.
