I have tutored hundreds of students not only in elementary, high school, and college academic settings, but private home sessions as well.

Education is the pathway to opportunity and success. My ultimate goal is to help break down any barrier standing in your way to achieving this success.

I tutor statistics, biology, algebra, geometry, probability, chemistry, English grammar, and a wide range of other subjects. Just ask! My style of tutoring is highly effective, and sessions are well planned. Every second of your lesson is catered to your success!

My aura is positive, inspirational, motivational, and peaceful. I hold extremely high academic expectations and want every student to become confident in their subject immediately after our first few sessions.

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. My hobbies are volunteering, practicing piano, leisure reading, solving challenging math and science questions, visiting zoos and nature centers, listening to educationally inspiring debates in business, economics and politics, practicing Swedish, and spending quality time with friends and family.

Finally, genetics is my most fascinating discipline of biology, and I have spent a great amount of time interpreting genetics concepts and solving application problems. Finally, I have years of experience tutoring biology, in which genetics problems have come up.

While many states take Praxis, Illinois has its own basic skills diagnostic test for prospective teachers via the Illinois Licensure Testing System (ILTS) called TAP (Test of Academic Proficiency). He Loves Math!

Mr. James is everything you would want in a tutor. He instantaneously knew how to help my son navigate through is fears and the subject matter. My son felt that Mr. James was extremely encouraging. If he didn't get an answer correct on the first try, Mr. James would say, " Your on the right track with your thinking... and then he guides him. He is very hands-on. He explains a concept from the beginning so the student has a deeper understanding of the subject matter. He's a winner!

Lesson went very well as usual

The lesson always have the kids leaving with the "ah-ha" that's easy.... his lessons are great and results are nearly immediate. I've referred him to others who I know will benefit.

GREAT COMMUNICATION!

The first thing I noticed about James was that he focused on the positive things that my son was doing and didn't harp on the negative. Whenever my son struggled through a lesson James made a note of it and made appropriate adjustments. My son has gained so much confidence after just a couple of sessions with James. James goes above and beyond with his summary communications of how the sessions are going which is a tremendous help because my son and I live in different states and James makes sure to always keep me in the loop with everything! He not only tutors my son but he also provides us with personal assessments on he colleges that we are interested in and he makes surentonfo us on what those colleges are looking for from an ACT testing perspective. A++ tutor!

Great First Session!!!!

James is currently tutoring our son in chemistry and his first session went very well. Our son was able to gain a much better understanding of his subject material in just the first session. James was professional and made an easy connection with our son. We look forward to seeing our son's learning curve improve under James's instruction.
