I learned German as a young adult, and lived in Europe for several years. I know firsthand the difficulties that English speakers have when trying to learn this language. The good news is that once a couple of obstacles are overcome, German is one of the easier languages to learn because of the structure of the grammar. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
