I have 30 years of bedside nursing experience in acute medical surgical and critical care units. I have a MSN degree and have taught in nursing programs and tutored students since 2008. I have tutored students to be successful in passing exams. I can improve your skills in reading, nursing concepts, and understanding the NCLEX style questions. I will work with you to establish a success plan. We will work on what challenges you to build on the knowledge you already have.

She did some review questions with me, briefly talked about infection control and explained some strategies of answering NCLEX style questions as we went through the review questions.
Mary is very helpful with breaking down NCLEX questions and helping guide you to the right answer. Very knowledgeable of the material you go over along with teaching you how to critically think.
My tutor is an excellent resource. Everything we review is invaluable in my studies. I do not respond for every session about my ratings. However, I will say that every session has been excellent and very in formative. Her experience and expertise in the nursing field proves to be what the graduate nurse needs to excel!
We have done ABG's, F&E, and now working on respiratory and diabetes. We've been doing practice test questions, reviewing homework assignments.
I met Mary Ann through WyzAnt in October of 2015 and she's been meeting with me twice a week since then. I had just taken the NCLEX for the 2nd time and needed help before attempting to take it a third time. As of this morning I am a registered nurse! Mary Ann taught me how to answer NCLEX style questions, pushed me to study and work hard between lessons, and gave me the confidence that I needed. Each week we would schedule an in-person meeting and a Skype meeting (1 hour sessions). She worked with me to schedule times that fit into my schedule. Getting immediate feedback while answering questions and reviewing topics was extremely helpful. If you're ready to get serious about studying for the NCLEX then have Mary Ann help you out!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have taught in the RN program for 5 years with a focus on medical surgical concepts. I focus on pharmacology, dose calculations, and safe bedside nursing care of the patient. Students have successfully passed their NCLEX exam after my tutoring sessions. Each student will have individual needs and will have a developed plan with timeline.
I have 30 years of acute critical care experience. I have a MSN with teaching experience. I can tutor the NCLEX, CCRN and CMC exam, dose calculations, ECG analysis, medsurg, and critical care concepts.
I have incorporated nutrition into medsurg concepts. As example, while taking prednisone, you may be hungrier and may increase your blood sugar. Another example, patients with high cholesterol will need to limit saturated fats from their diet. I teach reading the food label. A can of soup is 2.5 servings so must count 2.5 the sodium listed on the label.
Nursing students are challenged with the classification of medications. I strive to increased their knowledge of classification and to include 3-4 priority assessments. These include the ABC's like respiratory rate (RR), level of consciousness (LOC), and blood pressure (BP). The nurse should assess the BP, RR and LOC before, during, and after administration of a narcotic.
