In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

After years of experience as an Administrative Assistant working in Corporate America, I did not find the fulfillment I expected in my jobs. Changing my career to education was the best thing I have ever done.
I met the qualification of teaching in the schools by having earned 60+ hours of credit from reputable universities. I have successfully passed my criminal background check.
Throughout my career, I have kept the offices I have worked at operating efficiently (Indiana University, University of Chicago, and others). I was able to do this due to my strong organizational skills. At local public schools and charter schools, I have worked directly with students, teaching them organizational skills and how to manage their homework and scheduling.
