I spent a lot years of my adult life as a stay home mom raising 4 children. I have always been passionate about children learning. While a stay-home mom, I opened up an afterschool program in my home where I tutored elementary age students. When my children got up in age I went back to school to become a certified teacher. I continued in my studies and got my Masters. I teach in Chicago and I have taught all grade levels in elementary school. I went back to school a couple of years ago to focus on diverse learners. I believe we all learn differently and that instruction has to be differentiated at all times. Having gone back to school for special education, I have developed an interest in teaching adults as well, those that may have disabilities of sorts.
My area is interest is Language Arts, Science and Reading. I am interested in a broad spectrum audience because as I mentioned in the above paragraph there are many adults who can not read or struggles with reading. I would not want to limit myself with my abilities. I am very available for the summer hours seeing as though I have the summer off. I have done tutoring for summer school a couple of years ago and on last year I did tutoring with a company by the name of Rising Stars based out of Texas in an after-school program in Calumet City, Illinois.
Although I currently reside in Northwest Indiana, I spend a bulk of my time in Illinois. I am willing to travel.
In my early years of education I wanted to become a doctor. I took science classes all through high school and college. I love science. I love biology, anatomy, physiology and I am passionate about teaching it. I know I would be an excellent tutor because I have a lot of knowledge. Psychology was my minor and I am passionate about that as well. I meant to include Language Arts because I love that subject too.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
